Today while strolling through Williamsburg, I finally got a chance to try out a sandwich at The Cheese Shop. Let me just say that it was very good. I can’t wait to try another sandwich. Seriously, the food there is heavenly. They also have some nice cheeses and a wine cellar. Now that I know they have such culinary goodies, I think I’ll have to try shopping there again.
In other good news, FunbariHotSprings had a terrific week. In spite of some valiant trash-talking, then-number 2 Never Summer went down 7-2, and the number 3 and 4 teams both battled to a tight 4-5 score. This allowed me to increase my first place lead to a respectable 7 game lead. Brad Miller and Zach Randolph were fantastic. I can’t believe I got Randolph in the last round of the draft!
I caught up on the sudden influx of anime today, too. Full Metal Alchemist was a bit weak. R.O.D. cliffhanger-ed me big time. There was way too much “Zah Paypah”-ing. That Joker is an evil fellow. I still have to watch the next KimiNozo.
I noticed that Clyde’s filter wasn’t working very well recently. Last night when I fed him, I saw the flakes weren’t moving at all… the filter was doing nothing. I took it out and cleaned it and removed gigantic chunks of algae. Gross!
Ahhh, took Greyhound bus (which was 2 hours late as usual) back to Richmond and was greeted by the sight of my deflated air bed and steamy hot (no a/c here o_o) room. Took a look in the kitchen and the garbage had piled high again and reeked something horrible. A quick gander into the fridge showed that my mooching roomies had helped themselves to half a gallon of my ice tea. Maybe Williamsburg isn’t so bad! At least I don’t have to worry about living in filth, having food stolen, or sleeping on an air mattress. Anyway, I celebrated my return to my Richmond sublet with a hot dog from 7-11.
One of the angelfish kicked the can already. Bah, gotta make a return trip to PetsMart now.
Back in Williamsburg for a few days and I managed to transport two marble colored angelfish and a cory catfish in a cooler to my new apartment. I think everything worked out alright and the fish seem happy with their new tank. I recently heard that renting a car is actually only a little costlier than this whole bus/taxi farce, so I might have to try that next time. It’s so hot and humid down here… I’m at a public library once more dealing with a super old computer that can’t even handle javascript. Plus, there’s a 15 minute time limit so I can’t blog for too long, unfortunately.
Last night I assembled a plethora of IKEA furniture. I was very proud of how nice everything came out =).
As sad as it is, I finally relented and tried out Humans For Sale. I have no idea how it works, but according to this site, I’m worth exactly $2,094,742.00, which is above average (yay!) at the moment. I do so love a cheesy quiz thingey that is well designed. Beware of the slew of pop-ups on the site though.
I also bought some stuff at PetsMart (which I successfully found). Fish stuff is kinda expensive, but I guess they can’t exactly take care of themselves in captivity. Has anyone else ever seen the Upside Down Catfish? At first I thought they were kinda cute but then I realized they were really kinda morbid…. Totally creepy!
