The last 2-3 weeks have been rough, with constant showings. We priced our place to sell, but were planning to reduce the price $5k every month it didn’t sell. Fortunately, today we received an offer for a bit more than $10k less than our first listing price, and we will probably take the offer. Part of me wants to negotiate, but the potential buyer waived all contingencies, and is flexible on closing date, both of which are very important to Bunky and me.
The worst part of the showings was all the cleaning. Bunky has to work late all the time, so I had to carry Kiwi while cleaning a lot, and obviously it sucked. This weekend, I had to do touch-up painting and steam cleaning on the carpet in preparation for a scheduled showing today… only to have the person cancel at the last second. I was bummed about this, but it was made better by the offer tonight! Too bad I had to do all that work over the weekend, but I’m glad the selling process went quickly.
We still have not looked for a place, so we may be in a temporary rental for a few months. That’s gonna really suck, but we didn’t want the stress and risk of two mortgages.
