WTF AOL, what is this Bebo crap you are trying to force on me??? My Digsby showed a new category and I couldn’t even remove it because it already had one friend in it (ughhh, stupid MBA groupwork…). Don’t worry, I got you covered. I had to create a bebo.com account just to delete it but it was totally worth it. Screw you, AOL.
How do I cancel my Bebo membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time (though we can’t imagine why you’d want to):1. If not already signed in – click here to do so and enter your email address or username and password.
2. Click on the ‘Settings’ link on the top menu bar.
3. Click the ‘cancel your membership’ link located at the bottom of the ‘My Account’ page.
4. You must then click the YES button to actually cancel your membership. If you are unable to sign-in to cancel your membership then please Contact Us and we will be happy to help you. Because we’re nice like that.
The cutesy tone of this paragraph pisses me off almost as much as AOL shoving this stuff down my throat. There was even a box on the cancellation page:
Reason for cancelling – we’ll miss you

UGH, who OK’ed this garbage service?! I think it’s BS that you have to create a Bebo account just to delete the group, just as it is BS that AOL added the group to my list without my consent. I canceled my account after leaving a nasty message (basically that Bebo is a POS and that the way AOL rolled the program out ensured that I will never willingly give Bebo a chance) and restarting Digsby, the Bebo Group in my Friends List was gone. Make sure you skip all the “Add Friends” steps so that you don’t spread the cancer that is Bebo to everyone else.

What a coincidence! One of my RL friend’s nickname is Bebo… To be honest, I always thought it was a stupid name (even more than adding three 159s to the end of your name)
I have just regular AIM, and I see no signs of a Bebo (except for my friend). Thanks for the heads up though, I’ll be sure to follow your guide if anything happens. =3 BROS BEFORE BEBOS YO!! (or is it Beboes?)
