Frieda Watch What We Want
A little while ago we bought a DVD player. Our old TV was so junky it did not have inputs for a DVD player, and I often just watched movies on my computer. However, instead of buying a ton of DVDs, we signed up for Netflix.
We’ve received two movies so far, and it seems very fast and convenient. Bunky is contemplating upping our membership to remove the monthly limit on films, but we’ll have to see how many we watch. At first Bunky was in charge of the movie list, but when we received Frieda as our first movie, I kicked her off the committee and redid the entire queue. I’m not saying the movie wasn’t great (since we didn’t watch it), but when your first DVD is about a unibrow surrealist painter who likes men and women, you are really straying away from mainstream.
The next film was the Bunky-friendly movie Stardust. She was instantly against it, thinking it would be some nerdy space movie (if she knew better she would know I don’t usually watch space stuff), but it was actually a chick flick. In spite of that, it ended up having quite a few dark elements and overall was pretty good. It also had magic, unicorns, a princess, love, and flowers, so Bunky was happy.
I’m scared because I think (but don’t remember if) the next movie in the queue is The Notebook. I was trying to build political capital, so I took a few hits for the team in the early part of the list.

Hahaha..yeah, I’m embarrassed to say that The Notebook made me bawl.
And Netflix is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I’ve been a subscriber for 4 years now, and I can’t remember what my life was like without it.
