Frieda Watch What We Want

A little while ago we bought a DVD player. Our old TV was so junky it did not have inputs for a DVD player, and I often just watched movies on my computer. However, instead of buying a ton of DVDs, we signed up for Netflix.

We’ve received two movies so far, and it seems very fast and convenient. Bunky is contemplating upping our membership to remove the monthly limit on films, but we’ll have to see how many we watch. At first Bunky was in charge of the movie list, but when we received Frieda as our first movie, I kicked her off the committee and redid the entire queue. I’m not saying the movie wasn’t great (since we didn’t watch it), but when your first DVD is about a unibrow surrealist painter who likes men and women, you are really straying away from mainstream.

The next film was the Bunky-friendly movie Stardust. She was instantly against it, thinking it would be some nerdy space movie (if she knew better she would know I don’t usually watch space stuff), but it was actually a chick flick. In spite of that, it ended up having quite a few dark elements and overall was pretty good. It also had magic, unicorns, a princess, love, and flowers, so Bunky was happy.

I’m scared because I think (but don’t remember if) the next movie in the queue is The Notebook. I was trying to build political capital, so I took a few hits for the team in the early part of the list.

Wolfy and Spicy

Amu

This one was in the works for months! I couldn’t think of a great idea so I just did cosplay again with Amu from Shugo Chara. I didn’t clean up the lineart, so I blended dry brush strokes for the coloring. Not much to say besides that…

Bachelor Time

Bunky is going to Florida on a three-day trip. This means:

  • More cleaning: It’s rewarding when someone doesn’t trash the place just a few hours later.
  • Anime Catchup: I am so close to being all caught up on all my series!
  • BF2142: Must… get… Clark…
  • Sandwiches every day: It’s not that much fun to cook for 1.
  • Extra Attention from the Cats: Even Toby will have to be nice to me now.

She’s taking the DS, though.

So Much Awesome

I saw this article

Meet Ringo Tsar - a dog who can pack a knock-out punch with his paws.

Well that is pretty much everything I want in an article: a housepet, martial arts, and a multi-faceted pun (Ringo is a Russian terrier). Also, the picture of Ringo hitting the pads with his owner is pretty hilarious.

“He can jump and kick to command with his two front feet at a punch bag or kick pad.

“It seems much better to teach a guard dog to do this than to bite.”

Toby has been training himself to jump-kick, but his practice has been limited to kicking items off our tall dresser.
