Nerf Studying

Owned my MBA finals. 100% Stats, and a disappointing 96% Information Systems. Only a billion more trimesters to go.

Gotta Be Safe

WTF, took the car to get inspected and was told that the car did not pass inspection. Um, this car is only about 2 years old, what could possibly be wrong with it? The answer: one of the tiny (like seriously 2″x1″) reflectors on the side is cracked. How does that in any way impact if my car is safe to drive?! They tell me that it will cost ~$30-40 to fix and then the car will pass. I feel like they are holding my car hostage. Damn you Pep Boys!

I’m getting close to finally earning enough Continental miles built up to actually fly somewhere. On a whim, I went and checked out what I could get with my miles. The magazine subscriptions were kinda tempting, as they don’t take many miles to earn, but when you think about how cheap magazine subscriptions are normally, the deal loses a lot of its shine. However, then I found the wonder that is the OnePass Online Auction.

With 24 days left, bidding on a Continental Airlines “Retired” Beverage Cart started at 22,000 (about how much you need to earn a short flight in the US). It has a retail value of $865.

Need to serve hundreds of drinks quickly in a small space? Let us help. Continental’s beverage cart will provide you with the flexibility to store all of your favorite beverages and accessories in a convenient mobile storage unit.

Previously used by Continental Airlines, but completely refurbished, this cart comes with a stainless steel prep deck with ice storage, two cup holders, spacious pullout drawers, and full swivel casters with a foot operated braking system.

WOW. But wait, it gets even better.

The item is ONLY available for customer pick up at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

Get ready to snipe this bid, Velius.

So Close

We were so close. So damn close…

We finally decided to just install a mirror on the door ourselves. The holes for the brackets were drilled. It was time to put the mirror (mirror_3) in and seal the deal. Unfortunately, the mirror every so barely touched another surface and the corner slightly chipped. WTF, so fragile! Ugh, now we have to take the mirror back (the chip is cleverly hidden within the box) and get another one. It’s like we are destined to never have a full length mirror =(.

We now have two unusable full length mirrors in the bedroom, and one broken one at the shipping warehouse.
