You Never Told Me You Were Dyslexic

It seems that bad surgeries don’t just happen in other countries.

Rhode Island Hospital has been fined $50,000 and reprimanded by the state Department of Health after its third instance this year of a doctor performing brain surgery in the wrong side of a patient’s head.

Three strikes you’re out, I guess.

The hospital is owned by Lifespan, a not-for-profit corporation. It serves as a teaching hospital for Brown University.

What are they teaching those kids?

actually I am terribly afraid of this happening. I took M to the doctors the other day to get her knee and foot x-rayed. I repeated several times “LEFT” knee and “RIGHT” foot, and the nurse still had to double check with me later.

Just write it on her knee and foot with a sharpie, so there can be no mistake.

You sure it wasn’t RIGHT knee and LEFT foot?
