It's a "PCI Device" although I don't actually have any cards in PCI slots. Under Sound, Game, Video Controllers, the devices are all working but look odd:

There is one unrecognized item with a yellow exclamation mark. It’s a “PCI Device” although I don’t actually have any cards in PCI slots.

It also ended up saving me the time needed to install SP2, which was very nice! Of course not everything is peaches and cream, as the onboard audio has not been detected... I didn't need to do anything special when I put together my Shuttle; maybe it just depends on the motherboard brand.
