Bunky’s Belt Test

Bunky’s going for her black belt. Apparently she has it in her head that she absolutely must have a belt ASAP. I have been told that she currently has nothing to wear and that she has a ton of clothes just waiting for a belt. Her other clothes are apparently too secretary-ish and she is moving on to pants with belt loops. All of this is somehow my fault.

Last week we went to Coach and she picked out a nice belt she liked. I didn’t let her buy the floor model (which was the last one they had), because it was really beat up. Why pay a lot of money for something half-broken? Coach said they’d hook us up with free 2-day shipping. Everything sounded great. Except that it’s been over a week and the belt is sitting in some Fedex facility. Fedex didn’t feel the need to call us about the “incorrect address” and didn’t get the belt here even after the correction. The address mistake was super duper stupid (along the lines of being unable to find “Grey Street” if it was accidentally written “Gray Street”), and Coach wrote back to Bunky apologizing and refunding $17 back onto my card. Woot!

Oh Le Sigh

I’m totally ready for winter to end because I have been in such a funk lately. It hasn’t been anything major, but I’m finally starting to feel the effects of the constant Ithaca-esque weather (cloudy and cold all the time). It makes me feel torpid all the time, even when my mind is telling me about all the things I could be doing.

Lately I feel guilty about completely slacking on the anime blog. It’s not like the usual case where I just feel too lazy to blog about the shows I watch. It just seems like this fall-winter season has been so incredibly craptacular that it beats out the typical crappy fall-winter season of shows. I barely even watch anything nowadays, and it’s a struggle to watch some mediocre shows I don’t care about just to update once a week. Then I scrounge for some amusing news bit to bring the weekly post count to 2. I’m not pleased about this because I like watching and discussing anime, and the dearth of viewing material has interfered with both activities.

On the plus side, there actually has been a lot of great American TV on. I’ve been watching more shows than usual with Bunky, and they are great fun. I don’t usually watch enough cable TV to warrant yet another blog to talk about episodes, but lately several shows have been very entertaining.

  • Gray’s Anatomy: Whether I’m yelling that Meredith isn’t dead or laughing incredulously at Izzie’s retarded speech, I’m having fun. I wanted to punt that mute girl off the pier. Couldn’t she at least have mimed out the gist to Derek? The idea of George as a sexxoring machine makes me highly uncomfortable. Christina is my favorite character on the show.
  • What About Brian: Oh I was soooooo against this show when Brian was poaching Marjorie, but now that Adam (who is also a lawyer in Legally Blonde LOL) is swearing off women and Brian is off getting ugly haircuts everything is A-OK. The latest Dave-Deena and Nicole-manny pairings are soooo horrifically bad I want to scream, though.
  • Dance Life: I thought this show would suck, but there have been no J-Lo sightings, and it’s been vaguely interesting. A big NO WAY to the video getting put together in under 2 days, and you get the scummy feeling that everyone is sleeping with the executives.
  • Maui Fever: This show is so incredibly lame that I like to complain about it every chance I get. That poofy blonde boy is so ridiculous and that sleazy blonde girl is really bad, too. This show is like Laguna Beach gone super sucky.
  • Bam’s Unholy Union: I hate Bam, but the editing has made him into more of a lovable jackass instead of an intolerable jackass. Bunky loves his fiance and giggles uncontrollably throughout each episode. They showed some scenes of Pittsburgh downtown, including that funky glass cathedral-thing that I can’t figure out.
  • Heroes: Meh, kinda good, but I think it’s overrated. Brains…
  • Lost: Ok, but I bet it is going to end up being an endless string of mysteries that go nowhere.
  • The Hills: Pretty boring. Heidi is dumb.
  • Desperate Housewives: So far sooooo much better than last season (the brother in the cage was so damn stupid). I liked the arc with Orson Hodge, and thought he ended up being pretty cool. But what is up with the Van De Kamps being some happy family now, except for the slutty sister? I also preferred angry gay hooker Andrew to happy mother loving Andrew. I still can’t stand Susan. I also think Zach is playing, cause there is no way that he bagged Gabrielle. Hello, remember what he was like in the first season?!

Yeah, Bunky watches a lot of TV…

Sariana

Sariana

Here’s a quickie sketch of my WoW Priest, Sariana. I originally was going to clean the lineart up and make it all cool with the Night Elf shield of arms in the background. I was going to have Sariana holding a glowing ball of light with some rings around it, and funky glow effects. But, then I got totally lazy and kept it in sketch form of course. I typically sketch in navy blue nowadays and then adjust the brightness contrast to make it look like I drew in black. There was an attempt at an OOM tattoo, but it ended up looking like a spider T__T.

I Am A Lousy Teacher

Dang, while I am still struggling to teach Sydney 1) to sit, and 2) to always pee in the litterbox, this lady has a cat that can play the piano!
