It’s Best To Do Nothing

So lately, I’ve been giving some thought to what to do with my poor priest Sariana.

I keep wavering back and forth over this, but the latest information I read about reputation grinding has me thinking I made the right decisions thus far. Right now I’ve gotten my warrior to halfway through 65, and Sariana is sitting at 62. While Rozamystica has done almost every quest that she has encountered, Sariana has pretty much just instance-whored her way through the expansion so far. I’ve been putting off the respec to Shadow because I prefer being a good instance healer to grinding a bunch of mobs in Shadowform.

As it is starting to become clear to me, perhaps this is the right way to go about doing things. As a priest, Sariana stands a great chance of getting some PUG runs, even if this might be slower. As my second character, I don’t have to worry about missing out on content, since I am experiencing it with Rozamystica. So perhaps this slow instance-whoring may allow Sariana to get to level 70 with minimal pain. I assume I will be doing endgame raids mostly with Sariana (which I prefer anyway), and Sariana will need all those annoying Revered-Exhalted Alchemy recipes. Combine this with needing Revered keys to access Heroic-mode, and I highly doubt I will want to grind a ton of reputation with two characters.

To ease Sariana’s pain, I’ve been having my warrior send all the quest items possible in the mail. I’m going to continue to just keep Sariana parked as Instance Healer while I solo with Rozamystica, and hopefully the gear and experience will be enough to get Sariana to Honored. Then it will be time to do that zone’s quests and move to the next set of instances. The fact that Sariana can’t solo for crap while specced Holy/Discipline is facilitating this pattern. I’m actually somewhat encouraged by this, because grinding reputation is not much fun.

The only thing that gives me pause is that I realize that my friends aren’t going to want to run Sariana through an instance a whole bunch of times as charity work. I really miss the /LFG channel, because now PUGs are limited to spamming the General channel and rarely using the /LFG tool. I miss healing PUGs, because those are some exciting runs (unlike typical OOM runs where it’s so smooth that the goal is to finish the instance before the first layer of buffs runs out).

As for the Heroic-mode dungeons, I’ve been hearing about the trash mobs hitting well-geared tanks for nearly 2,000 a hit =(.

Well, I think after I am done with my rep grinding on Velius, I’ll hardcore power Lans to 70 to fill that healing void. If Sariana wants to ride along, that’s fine. Also, why don’t you tag Sariana along with Velius when he grinds rep. You will get a large amount of kurenai rep and I am sure a LOT of exp. I mean, I have killed about 2000 ogres so far, and I forsee probably killing another 500 or so before I get enough beads to hit exalted with Consortium. Then I am grinding demons and Sariana is again more than welcome to tag along.

Be warned that the ogres are level 66-67 and spawn really fast so I really cannot ensure your survival 100% of the time. The Demons will probably be 69-71 so keeping sariana alive might be harder. Too bad sariana cannot fly, then you can just park the gryphon overhead and go watch TV or something while racking up the exp/rep.

Sariana ALWAYS wants to ride along. Can’t be worse than furbolg grinding.

5+ levels sounds a little high though, but if you are as fast at killing them as I suspect, we won’t really have a whole bunch of them around us. I can give you buffs, and then shadowmeld. Are there any nearby meeting stones?

The nice thing is that if you put it on free-for-all, you can take all the loot and take no penalties (since you don’t get XP), so it is a win-win situation.

Perhaps we can try this later tonight (I have Karate tonight). I have two Fades to burn, one on the usual timer (I forget if it’s 1 or 2 minute CD) and one trinket Fade on a 5 minute cooldown.

Ogres don’t run at least, right? And do you get Rep when you are dead? Maybe I should just unequip everything…. HMMMMMM!!!!

Yeah, go naked so you don’t lose an durability when you die. They give kurenai rep so you will probably get to 2000/3000 friendly or something like that. Yes, you still get rep when dead, but no exp.

This sounds kinda kinky and dangerous.
