Not As Good As Dim Sum At The Kim Sum

While it sucks that I am back in Pittsburgh and I have to work Thursday and Friday, it hasn’t been all bad. With all the college students out, taking the bus to work took about 10 minutes instead of 25 (and the typically full bus only had about 8 people on it). Although I’m not sure that getting to work 15 minutes earlier is really that great…

I’d still rather be shooting a straw animal with a compound bow =(.

Traumatic Really

Been home a few days now, and things have been nice and relaxing. The trip home to NJ was pretty craptastic, as I was 10 minutes early for the 28X and it didn’t show. I had to sit in the rain for 30 minutes before catching the next bus to the airport. Traffic was horrible and I had to listen to this loud pompous medical student talk the whole time about how he was so great at spotting who had lost/gained weight and who knew how to dress. I would have been 5 minutes late for boarding, but my plane got delayed about 2 hours. The next gate over was a flight to Houston that was on time…

My brother and I went and saw that Borat movie. Personally, I don’t think Borat is very funny, but the movie had its amusing moments. Mostly, though, I’d say it wasn’t that great a move, as much as I loved watching some hot live action yaoi.

I Think I Sprained My Hair

On my way to work this morning, the bus I was riding came extremely close to colliding with an SUV head-on. The SUV came from the right at a low speed and then rapidly accelerated in order to beat the red light. I didn’t see it immediately, but several people on the bus started making these ominous “oooooooooohhhhh” noises and yelling, and then the bus driver braked hard and the SUV flew by. It was a pretty close call, although I think the car was in the intersection by the time his light turned red (which would imply that the bus driver was jumping the gun).

I wasn’t too worried, since I was near the back of the bus and the bus would have destroyed the SUV in a head-on collision. One lady on the bus mentioned that the driver would have owed a lot of people a lot of money if the collision had occurred and another lady piped up with “If he hit us, I was going to say that I hurt my voice in the crash.” Ah yes… that definitely sounds like it would have resulted in a hefty settlement.
