No, You Go
The Playstation 3 went on sale yesterday, but of course I was not one of the fools early adopters who braved the cold and the muggers to wait in line. Buying these consoles is a dangerous activity, as the shoppers are not linked and typically wait in groups of 1-3 and stand around waiting to be pulled (also known as the impenetrable Scarlet Defense). Check this out:
Police said two armed men approached a queue of 15 to 20 people who were waiting for the PS3 outside the Wal-Mart in Putnam, Connecticut and demanded money from them. One of them confronted the robbers and was shot.
The man, who was not identified, was in hospital in a serious but stable condition. The muggers fled on foot and were still at large.
How do 2 men just storm a large crowd outside a Walmart? Clearly no one was willing to lose their place in line! (Ok, ok, they were armed, but still.) But damn, that sucks to have to wait in line for hours and then get robbed. Did they let the guy who got shot buy one even though he went to the hospital and lost his place in line? Did he prevent the paramedics from taking him to the ER until he got his hands on a PS3? C’mon reporters, do your job!
