Blargh iTunes Part 02
I tried to resync everything again and ended up with the same blank iPod again (just like last time). Actually the problem was the same; it wasn’t that I had tried to sync with empty folders, it was that the iTunes database on my iPod was corrupt. If a little alert hadn’t popped up on my Windows toolbar, I would never have known.
So I went into my iPod, viewed Hidden Folders, and deleted the corrupt file and tried to sync again. This time it worked, and now all my playlists are correct and my iTunes is up to date. However, I still hate this latest version of iTunes (version 7).
The problem is every time I want to get iTunes to recognize my iPod, I have to repair the installation. Windows sees the iPod every time, but iTunes 7 doesn’t. Also, I have yet to successfully upgrade my iPod firmware to version 1.2, since whenever the upgrade/restore process starts, it looks like iTunes loses the ability to recognize that my iPod is connected. Even more annoying is how whenever I plug my iPod into my computer, my computer hangs for a minute or two and I’m told I need a special high-speed USB port. I am quite dissatisfied with iTunes 7 so far. I don’t think I’m the only one having these problems. And another example here.
Update: I think the problem is that my computer is trying to protect my iPod from Apple’s crappy 1.2 firmware…

I am in awe of your technological abilities. Someone gave me an iPod Shuffle 2 years ago for playing flute in her wedding, and I still don’t know how to load songs onto it.
