I saw the remake of King Kong yesterday, and it was pretty good. Not as life-changing as everyone was saying, but definitely about as good as you can make a film about a giant gorilla. The acting and CG were very nice, and the Kong vs. T-Rex fight scene was amazing. The main problems I had were that it was a bit long, and the ending with Jack Black was a little heavy-handed.
My favorite moment of the movie was when they were on Skull Island and all the Brontosaurus are running away from the Velociraptors. Something about how they got all tangled up and were rolling everywhere reminded me of the Leeroy Jenkins video where the guild is yelling “Aw jeez, stick to the plan guys, stick to the plan!!!”
Wow, the support topics make it sound like WP 2.0 is gonna be kinda crazy. As soon as I get back in town, I’ll probably have to update KOLAAP and if it works, I’ll move Sea Slugs! to Wordpress 2.0. It sounds like many themes and plugins will break with the process, but at the same time, it’s always good to give the blog a new twist. I’m looking forward to a new Themes contest too, since the last one produced some really good stuff. I’d like to redo the face of KOLAAP, although this theme has worked pretty well, and also the anime blog since there is a strange padding issue that moves the layout to the left on 1024 or lower resolutions.
OMFG, my hands are like completely cramped up from playing so much Katamari Damacy. Why is it so fun to roll up people and animals? The cutscenes are also the best ever. I can feel the cosmos!
Update: The best cow for the Taurus constellation, the Holy Cow, can be found in the Sea Slug Ranch!!! Your Katamari has to be 7m 8cm 8mm large to pick it up.
I thought holiday time traveling would be annoying, but the airport was practically empty for my 10:50 AM flight and we got in 20 minutes early. Rock on!
