Alright, I’ll admit I’ve been in a bit of a funk, but I actually added a bit to this idea after seeing ADscion’s unbelievably sesame fanart showing her love for Katamari Damacy (omg, REAL media!!!). Mine’s a pretty low quality piece, but I tried to salvage it with a small barking Shinn Asuka. Anyway, this is the scene from Gundam Seed Destiny when Athrun is trying to defect (again…) and gets totally owned since he is in an inferior mech. I usually do multi-character scenes in pieces, with each character getting their own color planning line-art. Other than that, not much to say about this piece.
I’ll try to do better next time. After this comes “Fresh”.
More gaming news: Looks like the 1.03 patch for Battlefield 2 will be arriving any day now. Then again, that’s what Amazon.com said about Ender’s copy of Battlefield 2. After scanning the list of changes, I found a few worth mentioning:
Vehicle tweaks - No more accidental kills from bumping a friend with your tank (try to avoid hitting him at speed though) and no more struggling uphill in an APC. Also no more improper TK allocation from vehicle explosions.
Wow, maybe Ender can get some positive teamwork scores now. Could it now be safe for Velius to “get that tank”???
Server Favorites and History - find your favorite servers that much easier. No more searching for them through the main server list!
Nice, no more scrolling through a never-ending list trying to figure out if that server you liked began with a ” * ” or a ” *”.
Anti-Air Missiles - These are now much more effective against fast-movers.
Now that they mention it, I don’t think I’ve ever been able to shoot down a jet with an AA gun. Choppers, however, are another story. I’ve even taken out a whole helicoptor crew with just the Support machinegun before, mwahahahaha.
All in all, these changes sound great. The new map they want to add seems to be one that we played a lot in BF1942. So far, several of us have the full retail version of the game, and I look forward to playing some new maps with my friends (as much fun as Gulf of Oman is). There was no mention of making the People’s Liberation Army not suck, but Velius continues to stick by them (and their absolutely horrible guns) because he has nationalistic pride.
On another patching note, the new tweaks to the Guild Wars display are totally awesome. Suddenly interrupting is fun again!
It looks like there will be a Disgaea anime coming out. Moreover, they are working on a sequel to the popular game. I’m not sure how good the anime will be (since these things are often poorly done), but I figured at least a few of you would be interested in the sequel game.
The cat tree recently arrived, and Sydney loves it. It took him a full day to figure the thing out, but by the second day he was climbing up to the top perch like… well, like a cat. This is good, because the first day’s attempts were both embarrassing and painful looking. Now that he’s got this thing, he spends a good portion of the day on the top perch lording over his Living Room Domain. The main goals of the cat tree are:
- Exercise: Hopefully the climbing will help Sydney maintain his streamlined appearance. Unfortunately, it seems like he just climbs it once and stays up there for hours at a time…
- Decoy: Now that he has the highest perch in the cottage, maybe he can stay off the dining room table and Bunky’s desk.
- Amusement: Sydney definitely likes the cat tree, and has taken to the scratching posts and sisal rope hanging off the side. It also adds a sanctioned vertical component to play sessions.
On a semi-related note, Bunky’s visiting some friends this weekend in Chicago, so I have to scoop litter again for several days T___T.
