Pretty Day

For any faults that this place might have, I have to concede that weather in Williamsburg is gorgeous. Not gorges (*cough* snow and ice covered), but gorgeous. I had a different (I love turkey and VA ham) sandwich at the Cheeseshop (40 minute wait *sob*), and took a stroll outside. In late December. How freaking cool is that! It’s a sunny, clear day. There is a light breeze and it’s currently 66°F. I think it was even warmer around noon. I can’t even complain about being cooped up while it’s nice, because I have a super-sized window in front of my desk. My front yard was full of cardinals and doves, and the pansies are all in bloom. This weather makes the Christmas decorations outside seem out of place, but I like it. It’s so nice right now, that I am not looking forward to INTHITH (it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity) type weather.

I’m excited about spending Christmas in NJ, but the weather is gonna be wicked. Not only that, but my train ticket up is unreserved =(. I hope there won’t be any problems, and I can get a seat. I bought the latest issue of Slam and also To Kill A Mockingbird to read on the train. I hear it’s good, but apparently it is full of SAT-type words and idioms. I’m worried that I will need this guide. I bought the super-cheap version of the book, just like I would have for any HS-esque reading material.

With some luck, the fish will all survive while I’m gone. I bought those vacation food things you can drop in. I guess when they dissolve they release food. I’m not really sure about this… I’ve checked all the filters and water levels and everything looks pretty good so far. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that I don’t come home and find dead fish or algae blooms. I also hope FunbariHotSprings will be ok, but I’ve already set up my player schedules for the week. I think they should be fine, unless someone goes down with an injury.

My New Year’s resolutions are as follows:

1) Play more basketball at the gym. Maybe start running again. Maybe even fit in my clothes again.
2) Draw more. 3-5 drawings a year is pathetic! I don’t have school as an excuse anymore either.
3) Start the GMAT studying process. Ugh, must… get… motivated…

And if I fail? It’s OK, I’ll have Subway for lunch.
