Older 2003 Fanart

Tao Jun

This was originally finished in May 2003, during which I babbled:

Lately the fanart updates seem to have been few and far between, but I have lots more series that I want to draw now. I really like Shaman King, ever since I saw it in Taiwan. Jun isn’t really one of my favorite characters, but I do like her character design. This was originally going have to have pailong in it but he was turning out badly so I edited him out of the picture. This is the first piece of fanart that I’ve done on a tablet and the my first fanart piece of 2003. I only did one piece in 2002?! Let’s hope I do a little better this year.

Looking back, I still like how it looks, especially the yin-yang background =D.

The Joy of Teaching

There is nothing like a *cough* well-crafted set of instructions to make botching a project a snap. Make sure to read these before you sound of bounce my way now ^__^. I love engrish.

2001 Fanart

Tenjou Utena

Is this like the only SD fanart I’ve ever done? I just want to point out that 4 years later, I am still waiting for that Zechs piece!!! This was finished in May 2001, and here’s the original lineart. Back when I drew this, I wrote:

Phew, it’s been a while since this page was updated. Anyway, this was supposed to be a really cool, tough picture of Utena but somewhere along the way I was waylaid by chibi-ness… Oh well, it’s finally done, just as I promised ADScion (so where’s Zechs? ^__~ ) and it was pretty fun to do. This is probably one of the first pics that I actually enjoyed doing the shading for, even if it might not quite match the lightening source exactly. The background is just a swash of airbrushed purple filtered over with the mosiac tiles. I actually haven’t watched any Utena but she was fun to draw. Hope I didn’t get anything wrong on the uniform… I did my best.

I think the 2001-2002 years were pretty bad overall for drawing. I barely drew anything during this time!

A Haiku

I came upon a haiku while browsing online, and I thought I would commemorate my restored power with some personal haiku’s in the standard 5-7-5 syllable format:

I finally have
power back in my cottage;
time to game again.

The trees and debris
in Williamsburg, Virginia
use rag-doll physics.

The end of summer
is a very good time to
take a warm shower.
