WOOT!

Dear Valued Verizon Online Customer,

Great News! We inadvertently notified you in a previous message that Verizon Online DSL was unavailable on your telephone line. We made a mistake and are glad to inform you that your line is pre-qualified for Verizon Online DSL service. We have begun processing your DSL order and you will be notified regarding the status of your order shortly. No additional action from you is necessary; your order is in progress.

Woo hoo, this made my day so much better.

Blargh!

Found out today from stupid Verizon that DSL is now not offered in the region. Great. Since the apartment doesn’t have a separate address, stupid Cox Communications won’t supply cable modem service. This just sucks. This Virginia is the “Internet C@pital” garbage is such a load of BS. I’m also not enjoying having to walk everywhere. Suburbia isn’t too friendly when you don’t have a car.

The most depressing thing about this DSL issue is that it sorta prevents me from getting any good new anime or multiplayer gaming done. I am racking my brain cells furiously, hoping for a solution.

I came across this thread extolling a certain Volcano High. Why was this movie considered good? I waited for hours to see this as the in-flight movie (while taking a trip to Taiwan), and I was rather disappointed by it. I thought it got cornier exponentially as the movie went on. For some reason, this reminds me that I saw the movie Equilibrium while in Blockbuster the other day. *cough* Fahrenheit 451 *cough*.

Just Another Boring Day

Well, had a pretty damn boring day today. Today’s highest point of excitement was finding the last BCI-24 Black Ink catridge for the Canon Printer. I caught some Crest of the Stars the other night and it was not too bad despite the character designs (no more spandex uniforms, please). I remember when I first started drawing and I used to draw faces kinda like that! Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t pursue the Takahashi style or I’d be drawing Ranma clones now… I can’t say I have a set style but I think I’m currently wavering between Nobuhiro Watsuki’s style (especially his later manga works) and a more realistic style from drawing while using photos in magazines as a reference. I like some of Hiroyuki Takei’s stuff too, although it’s more cartoonish.

Spoofy Contacts

Blargh, back in Richmond but all my stuff’s in Williamsburg now. I thought my sublet was hot before, but now I have to endure it over the weekend without a fan! I am so toast. I’m really sleepy because I’ve been running errands all day. While at the DMV, I noticed a license plate option proclaiming Virginia as the “Internet C@pital”. Who decided this??? Anyways, I finally got my Virginia drivers license, but the flash was so much brighter in one of my eyes than the other so now I look like Mad Eye Moody on my card. Like this –> o__O.

The whole incident got me to thinking though: You know those colored contacts that they make nowadays? Why aren’t there Sharingan contacts?!?! I’m a huge Naruto fan and I plan on working on this spoof as soon as possible! I look at the above link and I can just see the Kakashi tie-ins.

One good thing about these awful computers at the bookstore is that now I know that this blog looks just fine in 640 x 480 resolution.
