Sitting on Jello

Well Nets lost but at least they lost to a classy team. Too much Tim Duncan and Kenyon Martin did not show up to play. I am happy for David Robinson and the Spurs who no longer have to deal with the absurd assertion that their first championship should have an asterisk next to it and am so glad that the arrogant lazy Lakers didn’t win. Here’s to hoping Jason Kidd stays around and New Jersey adds some outside shooters and learns how to run a halfcourt set. Oh yeah, and I hope dearly that the Knicks actually draft someone good and don’t give up on him immediately. Not that that will happen…

Visited Byrd Theatre and the rest of Careytown this weekend. Very nice place. The inside of Byrd was just gorgeous and very historical. I enjoyed seeing Gangs of New York for only $1.99 as well. The only complaint was that the cushions on the seats are rather uncomfortable and can only be described as tall blocks of Jello with hard springs inside…

Tim Duncan Face

One of my favorite things to read on ESPN’s webpage is the Page2 article by Bill Simmons, the “Sports Guy”. This guy is just absolutely brilliant. I particularly enjoyed his thoughts on this year’s NBA Finals and his analysis of the “Tim Duncan face.” It’s just one of those things were as you’re reading you find yourself nodding in agreement and chuckling. Kinda embarassing when you have to read in a public library though… Well, at least I installed my TV card today so I should be good to go for game 5 of the Finals tonight. Phone should be on by next week so I can start the DSL installation. Hopefully all these things will go as planned and I can chuckle at Page2 articles from the safety of my own room. My computer has been acting up lately though, so I took the precaution of backing up important files. Such a pain…

I loved the headline for this picture: SEGWAY FAILS PRESIDENTIAL TEST… That is just classic, really. Guess the Segway isn’t dummy-proof yet.

Dem Boards

Finally got to watch a game of the NBA finals and the Nets did me proud, holding on to win. Wow, talk about terrible shooting woes for the Spurs. They should have been blown out, but the Nets really do have some issues with their halfcourt sets. I think by tomorrow I should have the cable up and running, thank goodness. All I need now is for the DSL to be set up and I will once again be connected to the outside world for longer than 1 hour a day. It is very hot and humid today. Richmond is very hot and humid in general.

Over at the Anipike boards, I heard news of a Naruto fighting game. That sounded pretty cool but I doubt it will be released in the states, and I probably wouldn’t have the console to play it anyway. Yesterday the colored pencil experiments continued and I finished a decent pic of Nami from One Piece. I definitely like the art style in that series. When I get some cash, I plan on checking out the manga and any available translations. Personally I prefer the Japanese versions along with fan translations because fans who are willing to translate usually do a great job and put a lot of love into their work.

Mirocculus

HA! Diablo II cheaters get what’s coming to them. Too funny. Guess those occulus rings aren’t any good to you now, eh!
